Anyone wear driving gloves?

I'm one of those somewhat sweaty hands guys (not so much though as to be embarrassing) so I'm always moving my hands around the steering wheel for a cool comfortable spot, plus I don't want to discolor my black leather wheel. I'm just wondering if any of you guys wear driving gloves? While I don't particularly care for the look, or maybe the "stigma" of a driving glove guy, I would admit it might not be so bad. I am a form follow function kind of fellow. Just curious, that's all. Thanks.

I wear shooting gloves on my bikes...without fail...and the same for spirited driving in the car...very thin..breathable..and positive grip..not leather...i buy them by the case...

I don't wear gloves when I shoot, but always did when riding, figuring my hands were going to be the first thing to hit the ground.

When I had my Jaguar F-type I was a member of a Jag forum (between my Hellcat and the current Redeye in my garage). Same topic and the gloves at the site attached were all the rage. I never felt I fit in with the crowd there. I missed the mental patients I get to interact with here!

I don't wear driving gloves in the car...always wear armored gloves on a bike. I remember reading a piece in a motorcycle mag that had a title something like "How much blood can you lose from your palms". That was after a piece that stated "Don't become that odd stain on Route 80". Gloves, helmet and leathers...always on a bike.

If my hands sweat, I'd consider it a good option when driving a 700+ HP car in a spirited manner.

Only when I did weekend jobs for CC itch paid fer the bar tab at DD's which was pert near pertty high. Like the gals. High all i tudes they are so working for CC gives me the extra $$ and a car fer a while. CC might have a big nose and all but a big 12 guage chain on that walleter.

Started wearing them religiously....after the first time I went down,,(30 some years ago)..still have some cinders in my hands...

Them damn hoses give me blisters after 3 days of riding. Blisters there and a few other places. Two many blue pills will do that in more ways than not eating for 3 days.

No gloves in the car, but sometimes on the bike. I like a set of half gloves for hot days, if it is more cool up here, then it gets more serious.

Never in a car, even during Auto-X and whatnot back in the day. 100% of the time on the bike. (and armor)

Not for normal driving, but I fully understand your thoughts. When I traded in my last 20 year old DD truck with a leather steering wheel, the leather on it was "end of life", and while my HC isn't a DD, I want very much to avoid that with this car.

When I have taken my car to the track, I've worn gloves and am glad I did. They were new, clean gloves and I believe it was helpful to keep the steering wheel clean from my hands that did get sweaty.

@BULL yup exactly. My dd truck has a leather wheel thats down to the plastic core in spots due to the leather being worn away. While my hc is not a dd by any means I would hate to mess it up.

What about Armorall leather wipes? Just wipe down the steering wheel after every drive.

Ive got a conditioner that I apply from time to time. Not like its soaking wet, just want to avoid problems.

From a former racer, dont use gloves with metal studs on the palms. Im thinking thats not what you meant but just as an fyi Ive seen these and during a crash when youre naturally trying to slow down by extending the hands out, those studs get hot and burn your hands.
