I've never known this to be true simply because most consumers end up running better times than published unlike the Demon.

That being said, my thoughts are something just isn't right the numbers, I can accept that the DCT transmission has less loss than a standard auto trans, but not that much. The 1/4 for the new C8 Z51 is low 11's at 121-123mph depending on where you read. With a curb weight of 3500-3600lbs depending on where you read, there's just no way this car makes more than the advertised 495hp.

Yea, all the reported performance tests so far say something isn’t right with that dyno number. Not even close really.

Yep, a quick trip to the drag strip would have confirmed how accurate those dyno numbers are. If it was making the power that they dyno'd, it would trap well over 130mph in the 1/4.

I don't see anyway to get 600 horsepower out of "basically" a LT1 without forced induction. You would have seen everyone doing it if possible.

Something is definitely up with the numbers, we’ll soon find out as more cars get tested. Could be a marketing ploy, a bit of smoke and mirrors. After all it got GM talk on a mopar site, no such thing as bad press in this case.
