Yea no plastic pieces like the 3.0. All billet. Plan on making 1400 whp with it or throw a Turbo kit on havnt decided yet. Mite throw the 3.8 on my Trackhawk.
I dont have a 3.0 to compare but the 3.8 is about 2 inches taller with the upgraded intercooler packs so im guessing the rotors are quite a bit larger.
Guys running the 3.0 Whipple with billet motors make 1200 whp. The 3.8 makes 1400 whp. Thats right from my buddy who swapped his and picked up exactly 200 whp with it so the rotors are likely huge which imo means this is only good on the street with a larger CI motor with good heads otherwise the 3.0 seems much more effecient down low.
Turning the 3.8 vs. the 3.0 will certainly result in quite a bit more parasitic loss but it makes gobs of power so if one has the motor for it then I think its great or if someone simply wants to drag race its great to.
Yep, I had a 4.5 I won’t go on about the nightmare I went through with it, stock gaskets with rtv still wouldn’t seal the warped manifold (2 of them). Had to get o ringed spacers
I will say whipple is not the best in customer service. You buy a throttle body spacer to fit their 112mm TB and it don’t fit have to buy a long 120mm that’s another 1300. I would have sold my 112mm if I knew that.
