Just wondering as I hate dinging up my calipers and having to re-touch them when r&r’ing wheels, which are getting heavier as my back gets shittier. Sometimes I use a pair of those spindles that screw to the studs, but they don’t work with my Bartons. Thinking of picking up one of those wheel dollies that people use to get their wheels off the ground so they can push the car around the garage. Just looking for your thoughts. Something cheap like this: IMG_9770.jpeg

started using the neighbor's teenage boy for the bend and stoop labor. cheaper than a trip to the doc for pain injections.

but that toy you have in the pics looks like a decent idea

Sit on the ground with one leg on each side and use knees to grip and lift with legs

QuickJack on its lowest setting. Sit on the floor and use my legs to help. Plus workout as aggressive as possible until you die to help with all the remaining strength you can make.

Three lumbar levels of my back are fused.

I didn't know how bad my spine was until this summer. CT showed a shitload of issues. OMM doc that has been practicing 50 years and was ring doctor for Hearns/Hagler and U.S. Olympic hockey team, told me, "I've seen worse, but not many."

Ass on floor and using knees or feet works for me.

I've had a couple doctors tell me that I'm one good injury from a wheelchair. Every couple of years, my spinal cord gets really pinched, and Dilaudid doesn't touch the pain.

I use a simple breaker bar, but a large screwdriver would also work to get the wheel studs to line up with the holes in the wheel. It's fairly easy to both rotate the tire a bit and lift it to the correct height that way. Of course, I also only lift the car until the tires clears the floor by about 3/4".

Now, does anyone have a good idea about how to lift heavy tires and wheels up on and off of the tire machine?

I "try" to get the spindle as close to exactly the right height off of the ground as I can.

If that doesn't work, like for my truck tires which are heavy, then I use "pain" to get them on.

Narcs won’t cover nerve pain unless you take serious amounts of it. It sucks.

THAT is a good point. I got the new extended set this summer and I move them on their wheels for sure. Then I carefully move them the wall and lift it about one inch to be hung on their hangers for storage. Good form, using my legs like a dead lift or squat developed from 50 years of weightlifting is the only way that will happen. When the old guy can’t do that, hoping that will be a while because a lot of fun stuff will be over.

We will get the wood supports painted up soon, sorry.:giggle:

I have had the extended frame ones since they came out (the tlx, which also has a slightly higher rise height). They flex. I need to get the 7k ones, the 5k ones are a bit sketch’s with the extended frames

I’ve got a 50.00 HF gift card kicking around since Christmas, and with these wheel dollys on sale for 105, I’m only looking at a $55-60 layout so I think I’m going to give one a try. I’ll report back. I had to put my oem tires on as those are the only ones with enough tread depth to pass my recent NYS Inspection, so I want to get my 17” MT’s back on before I pack the car away for the winter.
