The short story is that torque management is one of the methods used to control excessive wheel spin and loss of control. ( traction control) and ( stability control) This is in part accomplished by the use of the VVT system. (Variable valve timing) and fuel delivery. When the car is spinning the tires excessively. The ECM will change the valve timing and cut fuel delivery to reduce available horsepower. All that is required to not have this happen is to hold the Traction control button in the center counsel down until you hear a chime sound. Then all the nannies is turned completely off. CAUTION is advised when you do this. The Cat becomes a pissed off Cat at this time and will turn on you if you don't keep a tight leash. I hope this helps.
