Where I park at my sons' school...across the street there is a Corvette that I have never seen moved or driven. Just sitting there rotting...has major paint oxidation.

I know I know but maybe it belongs to a wife who's husbands passed and there just isn't room in the garage for it!

Nope. Z06 came out in 2000. That car is 1991-96 and virtually worthless lol. Not sought after really. They were awful cars tbh. Had a few.

'95 and '96 are my favorites of that series. Not that they're super special....just liked them.

I like the 1990. Same interior as the 96 but with the 85-90 body. One year only of that combo. Also the 1990 wheels are one year only. TPI engine had less hp than 95/96 but when you’re down around 250-300 it really doesnt matter lol.

Only the C4 ZR1 and 96 Grand Sports are a thing for that generation. I still loved the clam shell hoods and full roll up pop up headlights tho.

But why people let cars "go" is always a mystery to me. I'm not so much criticizing as I truly wonder..."what the hell is going on with THAT car?" 😂

I also don't think most cars are put in barns long term on purpose either. 😂

Short term fix and something happened and poof, 20 years go by and "Its a Barn Find!!!" 😂😂

I had a 1990 Corvette. I liked it at the time.

Same premise with motorhomes rotting away.. when I am truly done with something I would never let it sit and rot. Good info on the Corvettes.

Had a 96 Grand Sport. Sold it last year with 24,000 miles. Got nothing for it. That one is more than likely stolen. No body wants to touch it. Have it towed to your neighbors house. See how long it takes the cops to show.

Yea, probably some mechanical issues that costs too much to repair. There's a Maserati MC Stradale a few streets away from me in the same situation, parked outside and uncovered. Damn thing had spider webs from the exhaust to the floor last I saw.

Don’t they have some sort of opti-spark garbage ignition in those?

yeah..something like that. And just like Gremlins...you're not supposed to get it wet.....so they put it in a safe spot...right under or behind the water pump so when it leaks.....well....you know where that's going. However...MSD does make a nice replacement unit for it.
