Anyone run a C8?

Ok so a little rant here. I was on my way into work around 9am this morning and about to pull into the off ramp onto I94 and boom right in front of me is a blacked out C8 and I thought ok here we go. So let’s say you’re the owner of this new Alleged super car and you pull onto the off ramp with no one in front of you for half a mile and this hellcat wide body challenger is right on your ass, do you:

1) slam that thing into track mode, downshift and show that slow ass Dodge whose boss or

2) Drive it like a soy boy with your hands at 10 and 2 and look straight ahead and pretend that big bad Hellcat will just go away.

Well he chose option 2 of course and before all the street racing is bad crowd chimes in this was a perfect little spot for a short tug up to say 180 or so. I was hoping he would run for a minute to see how fast that car really is from a roll. To me why own it, or any other car like that, if you’re not going to do a little pull every once and a while. And again there was no traffic in front, along side or anywhere near us. Has anyone had the chance to run a C8? Ok I’m done.

I guess I’m built different. Shoot I’ll hit it with anything even if I know I’m going to get my but kicked. It’s just fun! Although I’ve noticed up here in Chicago land area it’s almost impossible to get anyone to do a short pull.

I would have played for sure but you would have beat me. I am impressed with the C8's power as a base model but it's no comparison to our cats and RE's. It's the Z06 that will be more a challenger. Like that... yes pun intended.

You do realize that the majority ownership of these cars are NOT "enthusiasts". They liked the car. They bought it. They drive it. ( maybe not like you want them too) 😂

From what I've read across multiple car sites, is that "we" are less than 10% of ownership. Corvette since the C5 have been producing north of 35-40k units a year. I've encountered many people in a variety of cars in the past 20 years(internet era) and most have never heard of any of these forums and have no plans to modify, race or display car at a show.

I'm with you tho, it saddens me to see these cars not driven to thier potential, and maybe they are, were just not seeing it. 😣

This reminds me of my Brand New 2016 Hellcat when I was driving down the road and a VW GTI guy comes up next to me and starts taunting me. And he is getting like really pissed since I ain't do nothing and I mean nothing which he did not understand my car had like 200 miles on her. I am like hell no and you ain't gonna hang anyways but I am sure he was like what the hell and he really did want to see me blast her. SO my guess is that or unbeknownst to you the C8 got pulled over for doing just what you wanted him to do the day before

You are probably right... in 1 day I caught up with 2 other owners when all 3 of us were trying to get our 500 miles in. I had Scats come up and want to race but thats an everyday occurrence in any car.

I just smoked a Maserati. It used to piss me off in my teens when old $hits( like I am now) wouldn't race me in my 74 AMX. I swore I would never be that guy. Just last week coming home from Eagle River I had some kid in a some kinda Lexus pull next to me on I.43. I didn't feel like playing I was just cruising at 80mph. He jumped once I didn't he slowed back down. I said to Ma " Why can't these phuckers just leave me alone" He looked over and gave the look I gave all of those old $hits. I let him have the jump as I was grabbing 4th. It took me up to 120 to get next to him and 130 inn the mirror 140 he let off and stayed behind me until he got off a Silverspring Rd. Lindenhurst 173 or 132 ? If was 173 your right what a Pu$$y

Grand ave going south so it’s nice and long and two lanes!! My route when I take someone for a ride is 45 up to 173 then south on 94 to grand and back to 45. You can pretty much go as fast as you want between 173 and Grand.

Eh, most Vette owners I meet drive them no differently than those old school Buick Roadmasters they would have been driving 20 years ago. Slow, in the left lane, hands 10-2 while wearing a GAP ball cap. I passed a convoy of 8-10 C7s and 2 C8s leaving the Cars and Coffee here 2 weeks agoon the Interstate and they were all doing 70 in a 75 in the right lane. I buzzed them all Maverick style @ 80-100mph and not a single one broke the conga line. They must have been heading to the Saturday morning Country Buffet.
