Speedy are you married? I ask since I'm curious how you don't know women have their own ideas and ways that are often mysterious!
And no, she's very educated, maybe over-educated so that ain't it, lol!
While I readily admit there are holes in this EV plan, I also am not naive enough to think we can keep spewing carbon at will until the 22 century. Like always, humans just swing too far in one direction then swing back too far in response. It's how the species rolls. And it's what we are seeing with the EV movement now. That said, there are definite advantages associated with wifey's plug-in hybrid. We have filled up on gas in her car maybe 4-5 times in the last 24 months. No joke. The car is well built (Kia Niro) and we literally ahve had zero upkeep. Even brakes wear down slower in these things (regenerative braking helps). So no complaints so far. As for me, I worked from home over the past year but even when I do drive, my office is 2 mi away. So we barely use much gas. Spirited runs in the Demon are the biggest ticket fuel cost, lol.
As a result...Gas crisis? What gas crisis? I filled up last week and the last time I had done that in her car was in March. $4/gal gas definitely sucks. Glad that's at least one problem I don't have.
