On the street, don't try to take one from a light... those areas of the road are always the worst and you'll never hook. Catch up to them from a roll and you'll show them the tails pretty quickly.
They are quick for sure...but soulless and utilitarian. The Hellcat makes one feel alive more than any other car I've owned...hope options like the HC continue to exist into the future.
If you look at what direction they are going today, soulless and utilitarian seem to be the norm. Can you still tell a car (manufacturer) from the look of the car? I used to be pretty good at - not so much most of the new stuff anymore...

I'm not saying it was a great thing to do, but my Grandfather used to do the thing where he would poor a glass of water down the throat of a carburetor on a running engine...

I was able to correctly guess most of those. Would be even easier from the front or back, but even a side profile can be attributed to a manufacturer. For most I can also tell you the model.
Do the same thing for mid-size cars in the '80s... I think you'll find that just as difficult.
There's one creeping around my little town always wanting to race. Of course he only challenged my 1000hp Shelby when we were at a light knowing I couldn't hook. Wonder if he's smart enough to stay away from the incoming Redeye?
Was at the track last weekend with 100D model S and it ran identical ETs to me but at 6-7 mph lower traps. They are 1/8 mile monsters for sure, after that a lot of cars will take them.
