UConnect Navigation Update

So I just received a new email offering an update for my GPS. I would like an update but I did this once before with another car back in 2015 and the update was a complete waste of money. Right now the maps on my 2021 are not showing the street that I live on or any of the streets in our community and our development was built in 2018. How can I be assured the update is actually up to date?

You would think when you buy a vehicle they would be up to date right then but it seems they may only update the system every few years. Why not contact them and se what they say?

Rather than update your Uconnect to see your streets I suggest moving to a more established community, it will probably be less problematic!!

I've been offered a "discount" update on the Ram navigation twice in 1.5 years. Have yet to update.

Finding that the navigation wants to always send us to an interstate highway, no matter where we are.

That sucks.

You haven't missed anything !!

Pisses me off that I can buy a $125 Garmin and get free updates for life (that I can apply myself) but updates to my $900 built in device cost $200 + shop time to install. Might be worth it if you traveled a lot to new places but for most ppl I suspect it's a waste of $$.

I believe in the setup pages you can turn off using interstates, I will change it for toll roads and the like depending on where I'm going and my goals of the trip (scenic drive or Go like Hell)

Sometimes I just like to piss the little lady in the box off and make her recalculate her ass off!!

I updated my ‘14 JGC once. It involved sitting in the car with the flash drive and my laptop for an hour and entering 12 digit/letter codes the HERE company sends you live. Makes hacking impossible. Giant PIA for an update that’s already six months old and doesn’t monitor traffic conditions. My ‘22 JGC uses Tom Tom and does free over the air updates.
