Finally got around to making it to the dragstrip.

I only made one run, the 392 pulled hard so I didn't wait around for a second run.

Shows just how good our in-car timers really are, the SRT engineers did an amazing job! Does that engineering team even exist anymore?

No problem!

I'm a data nerd and wanted to see how Dodge's PP stacked up against the Dragy and the dragstrip's $20k+ PortaTree timing system.

So in a nut shell, for my runs vs. the dragstrip ...
  • Performance Pages ET was ~1/10 sec SLOWER than the dragstrip
  • Performance Pages MPH was within 1/2 mph (but of course it only reads to tenths)
  • Performance Pages doesn't let you know how level the road is
  • Dragy's ET was incredibly accurate, to the hundreths
  • Dragy's 1/4 MPH was low by .84 mph
  • Dragy's 1/8 MPH was spot on (-.01 mph)
  • Dragy validates for slope (said the track was -0.12%, not sure how accurate that is)
I was looking for a 100% bone stock 12.xxx slip, but seeing how the weather conditions were great I'm not sure I can find another 0.042 sec reduction.

Maybe with a bit of a tail wind! Lol

According to this article (dated 2021):
https://www.thedrive.com/news/39275/dodge-srt-is-not-going-anywhere-despite-reports

"All of the core elements of the SRT performance engineering team have been integrated into our company’s global engineering organization."

Whatever the heck that means ...

I think you probably would have run 12.9 with just a couple more passes that day. I don't know what the crowd was like there, sometimes it's just too much waiting, but my car runs better and better as I race it, usually do 3 runs in a row, let it cool/rest, then go again. On the stock tune with the adaptives, it usually takes 3 runs to get it to max out power delivery through the transmission.

Ok, thanks.

I was approaching an hour and a half wait for my next run at the Test/Tune and just called it a day.

I'm lucky, our local track always seems to be just busy enough to be fun but not too busy for long waits between runs.

Where do you race at?
