I've been on a number of car forums and enjoy them. I can't stand Facebook and other forms of social media. I really don't care what some casual acquaintance had for lunch, or about the random meme they post. I enjoy the banter primarily focused on cars and other related things. There is a certain amount of anonymity which I appreciate. I've made a couple of friends through car forums over the years. I do think they draw the true enthusiasts versus the casual owners and magnify problems that probably only exist in a small percentage of the mass produced cars they focus on. My personal favorites are the supercharger whine on 15-16 Hellcats, grenading MT82 transmissions on Coyote Mustangs, and internal water pumps destroying engines on pre 2020 Explorers. All are real issues, but don't happen anywhere near as much as the respective forums would lead you to believe.
