"EV Fiasco: Ford Lost $5.1 Billion on Electric Vehicles in 2024"
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2025...ost-5-1-billion-on-electric-vehicles-in-2024/

Ford's full year revenue was $185 billion, with a net income of $5.9 billion (talk about operating expenses):
https://s201.q4cdn.com/693218008/fi...24/q4/Ford-Q4-2024-Earnings-Press-Release.pdf

So if I understand this correctly, Ford's net income of almost $6 billion would nearly double if they nixed the flashlights-on-wheels.

EV's are only ~3% of world vehicles, yet they are severely damaging manufacturers net profits. Anyway you look at it, this is bad business.

EV's have been a problem. Now, sanity is back in the Whitehouse, the EV will go on the back burner, which will enhance profitability for Ford and other auto manufacturers.

EV sales are 14% of all new cars and go up almost 3% each year.

Ford is expected to lose 5.5 billion next year on EV’s though. There lineup of EV’s is miserable.

FORD should have played the EV game like Stellantis. Take the tax payer money & build little to nothing.

I found this 2023 chart by the "International Energy Agency. Global EV Outlook 2024").
The greatest increase in batt carts was from small countries, so the impact is negligible.

The first large country was Communist China with 38%, and no one cares about Commies.
Next largest is France with 25%, and they're falling apart at the seams.
UK and Germany are both at 25%, and they're equally unstable.
Canada is at 13%, and they're also on shaky grounds.
The USA is at 10%, but there's a new sheriff in town.

From that point down they're all less than 10%.
Japan is at 4%, Mexico at 1%.

The summary I recognize is that EV's are popular in countries that are either antagonistic, or on the world econimic stage at least, irrelevant.

And there you go.
We won't even talk about the world's frail power grid and its inability to support a large number of batt carts.
Or the $1,000 US to $1,500 US it costs to install Stage 2 chargers in people's homes that many in society can not afford.
Or how there's a gasoline station every 2 blocks from most people's homes and you can fill up your ICE vehicle in 2 minutes.
Or how a worn out 10 year old battery pack costs $35k to replace and your flashlight cart is basically junk at that point due to fininacil costs.

Hopefully all the incentives and supplements from the Fed (to both corps & buyers) will come to a screeching halt. EV sales will plummet once the 'true' cost is realized & born by the consumer.

Ford Secures Historic $9.6 Billion Loan for EV Battery Manufacturing

Details of the loan

The $9.6 billion loan represents a major milestone for both Ford and the US government in their joint effort to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Administered through the DOE’s ATVM program, this funding underscores the government’s commitment to supporting private-sector innovation in sustainable transportation.

BlueOval SK’s facilities are projected to collectively produce over 120 gigawatt hours of battery capacity annually, significantly boosting the availability of EV batteries in the US The investment is critical to scaling electric vehicle manufacturing as automakers face mounting pressure to meet increasing consumer demand and regulatory requirements.

The Biden administration has given Ford $9.6 billion in loans and grants to support electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing.

Explanation
  • In December 2024, Ford received a $9.6 billion loan to help manufacture EV batteries. This loan was part of the DOE's ATVM program, which supports private-sector innovation in sustainable transportation.
  • The Biden administration has also given grants to help convert closed or at-risk auto manufacturing facilities into EV and hybrid vehicle production sites.

  • In September 2024, the Biden administration awarded over $3 billion in grants to US companies to increase domestic production of EV batteries and other materials.
The Biden administration's efforts to increase domestic EV production are part of a larger effort to reduce China's global dominance in battery production.
