Installed a knock off redeye hood on the charger. I got a good deal on a redeye air box so needed the hood. I still need to center it.

So with the new hood and air filter setup, my inlet temps are down 6-8*F My old hood with a rigged up intake sealed to the vent was usually 2* above ambient. I can now go below ambient 3-4*F due to the chiller. Ill see in a few weeks if the intake change makes a difference over the afe I had sealed to the hood.

When I ran my 9.6 with the afe I used the dry filter. We have a DPF flow machine at work so I put the filter on it to run a test. The afe dry flow was 3"hg restriction. Put a demon Filter on it and it pulled around .5"hg I then put on an oiled afe filter and it pulled around 1.5"hg The car sounds and feels happier now even at 9* timing 93 tune.

Ordered a set of drag radials, hoping they get the order correct. Thinking I need to switch to a 17" rim in the rear.

I also have bought walmart batteries for my other cars. Had to get one for my Jeep last year and the girlfriends daughters car
I had to finally replace my battery on my 16 HC @ the end of last summer...I dont shop around I just go to Auto Zone @ the corner of my street and buy a premium battery..I ran the car sparingly for a month before putting the car away..(in a 65 degree humidity controlled garage)..@ some point from mid November to last wk the battery tender failed...and the battery was stone cold dead..I put it on a 10amp charge for 2 hrs.then another hr @ 5 amps...I ws surprised a "new" battery went totally dead in just under 4 months stored in a warm environment

It's not a bad battery, our cars drain it when just sitting why they need to be unplugged or a tender is needed

Yep. While some seem to be okay with sitting unattended for a month or two, others can drop to 12.4 in a week. And you don't want them to get that low or sulfation really sets in.

I keep the HF float chargers on everything that is not used frequently. Have not had a prob since I started using them maybe 8-10y ago. Yeah, laugh about HF, but I have not seen any evidence that the premium chargers are better, sorry.

If you have the plus package you can put the car in storage mode at least on the 21 on up. IMG_8773.jpeg

I used to do that, but it is not a 100% shut down. I found it simpler to just put the $8 HF float charger on it.

Harbor Freight electrical stuff is not a laughing matter to me. Those cheap chargers may or may not burn the garage down, but I sure wouldn't trust them. Also, their output can apparently vary quite a bit.

It's great that they have worked for you, but there are definitely superior maintainers out there. Ones with desulfation and carefully calculated charge curves (voltage, amps, temp). It's a bit like comparing a Yugo to a Challenger, I think.

Yes, both are cars and in theory both will get you to where you're going, but there are notable differences between them. Is a $20 (when on sale) BatteryMINDer really that much better than a $8 HF one? Absofriggin'lutely yes.

To be really nice to some of my batteries I use PulseTech maintainers that cost around ten times of a HF one. Are they worth it? With some 80 batteries to take care of, wanting them to last and perform as well as possible, I'd say yes they are. You may disagree.
