Adaptive Cruise Control and the whole self parking shit freaks me out enough to never want an automatic setting to drive my car. Nope, I’ll be in control thank you.
To me it sounds like - I got in an accident - it wasn't my fault the car just "took off" on it's own... (no one wants to take ownership of their mistakes). My 2 cents
"Honest officer when the light turned green it took off from that SS Camaro like it had a mind of it's own". I didn't even touch the accelerator peddle." LOL

A couple of points...I never use the back up camera..as a former CDL driver (16 yrs)...I have logged over a million miles...I rely on my MIRRORS...my driveway to my grounds behind my house is over 300 ft long..its paved..and striped on the edges...i'm amazed how many people cant back down the driveway..and at night even with the reflective stripes..its unbelievable...the last thing we need..are conveniences to further diminish our driving skills...
True, but that's the motive they use to show the need for it. People today need to be chauffeured. Because they have no driving skill set. they are mechanically inept. And you need to have a working knowledge of an automobile to be able to drive the damn thing.

Secondly...no one can argue the benefits of GPS navigation...I use it when traveling to an unfamiliar destination...I recently did a ride along.with one my salesmen to the Rochester NY area..(60 miles from our Buffalo office)...I asked him to deviate from his normal routine ...he was lost without the GPS..He has covered this area once a week FOR OVER 6 YEARS!!!..he has come to rely exclusively on the GPS..oblivious to landmarks..buildings..even street names...you see where this is taking us

No question ...I employ 12 CDL drivers...one driver in particular (with 9 yr experience). had numerous service reports for clutch adjustments..I questioned him about his driving habits and it became clear he was riding the clutch...I asked him...do you have any idea whats goin on when you shift gears..or hold an 80.000 lb vehicle on an incline without a brake while in gear...the workings of the clutch..pressure plate..and the engine to move the truck and keep it moving..he was clueless ...it should be part of the training for CDL certification
