As a life long resident of NYS..I have experienced the almost criminal nature of the states taxation initiatives...but this has me really scratching my head...The price of gasoline at the pump in the WNY region varies from 2.43 to to 2.21 for regular...take a short trip south to the Seneca Nation reservation...(28 miles due south)...the price today was.99 cents a gallon....travel south another 40 to Salamanca NY..the reservation price is .68 cents a gallon...oil and taxation experts chime in...make me understand the madness

Apparently these Indian reservations are exempt from collecting gas tax. And this would make sense since in NY State the gas tax and fed tax equals roughly .64 cents a gallon.

I have been driving the hell out of my car because premium is $2.59 here LOL

The way I drive I barely get 11 MPG.

$1.99 in N. VA region. A little less the further South you go.

California is very high. There are a few of those convenient stores that sell gas for cheap but usually don't buy that stuff. If I drive inland a bit the price would drop a little.

I was stopped at a construction site while I was riding my bike and rode over to some food carts my buddies were at and some guy was going on about the need for more charging stations for cars up and down the coast and I had to ride away because that was one of the spots I like to light up the rears!
I was thinking tires and fuel are at an all time low so why not come back and do a nice smoke show?
The tire shop is on the other side of the street and the cycle shop is kitty corner so there are some appreciative audiences .

The Rez is only typically $0.10-$0.15 cheaper per gallon, so not so sure this has anything to do with taxes. Has everything to do with price gouging.

I know...its Crazy...never ever saw this kinda price spread before..and now in front of the NYS legislature is a bill to raise tobacco tax on cigars from 24%..to 75%...that's gonna kill non res cigar establishments...

Are there Government subsidies involved in Reservation gas?

I think...at least in my area, all the reservations are exempt from federal taxes. Not sure about local taxes. Normally booze, smokes and gas are cheaper there.

It’s not only Cuomo, it’s NYC. Everybody outside of NYC suffers the high taxes and small return of benefit from their taxes. The political power in this state is concentrated downstate, so is the money drain. Central and upstate NY is mostly coservative, but loosing ground due to the sanctuary city policies. Taxes on gas are a big way to finance these initiatives. But, even with the high taxes, enjoy these gas prices as things will quickly change. A word of warning, what will replace the gas tax when the majority of cars are electric? I know it worries me whenever I hear politicians pushing for electric vehicles, for the climate, you know! So I will enjoy my loud, abrasive, pleasure giving beast as long as I can, God willing... Now, end this lockdown and lets have some noise, smoke, tracks and speed...in the USA, not Mexico...lol 🇺🇸🇨🇦😆
