Ok....that really made me laugh

I ran into that with my 1320, but then I had one contact me and they were really close. I said no and told them where I needed to be. 3 days later they called back and gave me what I wanted, so down the road it went. I'll get something else later, but for now just putting the money away for retirement.

The only possibility of me unloading this car, and even that isn't likely, is for trade on the eventual RE. But the current plan is to keep this one and add to the stable. (I'll need a stacker parking lift in the garage to fit it.)

Oh sure....just like the alleged "appraisers" at CarMax. Or the time tested classic "but this is how much they're going for at auction".
My favorite though is when they tell you that they've got other ones on their lot just like yours (which is always some lower end model), and that this is what they're selling for and they can't justify giving you more. The last time CarMax tried that with me on a Ram 1500, I asked the guy if that was so then why do you have two different Rams of the same year selling for different prices? He gave me the minimum wage stare, and asked me what I meant. I told him they had one 2104 Ram for X price and another for Y price, and asked why the difference if ALL of the 2014 were's going for X price. He thought for a second and immediately said, "well they have different options". To wit I replied, EXACTLY. So if you are charging different prices for the same model with different options, then they're ALL obviously NOT selling for X price.

I left him to ponder that for a sec while I walked out the door.

I go to dealership websites, "just looking" at trade in values for a red eye, and KBB states my trade in value is 57 to 61.
Dealers reach out and say that the most they can do is 50.
I have told 2 to f*ck off in one week.

I do however like the "rooftop escape hatch" option.

They told me I had only 12 hours to decide ( due to market fluctuations).
I told them: I know what I got, the Russians or Chinese are not invading, the market won't fluctuate that much, I need 24 hours. They originally said no.
I said I need 24 or forget it. They said ok.

I'm pretty sure they'll keep calling for another two or three weeks.
They also added $2K to their initial offer after about a week.

If I pay that off and start over, then I will owe more than that, will need to get wheels again, and it won't be loaded (all the cool stuff, like 16 speaker HK, rain sense, blind side, adaptive CC, etc, etc, etc).

I’m patiently waiting for the next gen latest and greatest. If it’s not to my liking, I’m perfectly happy with what I have.

I listen to the podcast of the GivemetheVin.com owner's radio show every week. I bet you could talk them into letting you keep your wheels and would still get your price. They really want to buy cars right now. It's an entertaining show and through all the jokes and other stuff they do it provides some pretty good insights into the used car market.
