Neither one meets my needs, I'd move on to another vehicle, even if that meant waiting, but that's just me. The OP has different opinions I'm sure or he wouldn't be asking about those two.
If you were forcing me to pick, I'd go with the MY16, and I wouldn't be happy about it...

Actually the bad blower bearing thing was way overblown lol. When I heard about it I was determined to have my blower replaced. Then I had my cat next to an 18. My 16 was quieter.
Speedy put his 16 blower back on his red eye motor then runs a 2.72 pulley (over driving) it with no issues that I know of.
