It's not a $150k car IMO.

I got one dealer down to 20k adm on a non sunroof non cf wheel car.

I'm seriously thinking about pulling the trigger.

What do you guys think?

Or should I hold out hope for near Msrp?
I think you should do it.
Even on BaT, these are still going 30 over.

Looking back on some data I had (and older BaT ads) the 2018 Demons were selling around 95-110 a year after launch.
Thats top of MSRP to a 10k over.

Lots of dealers and flippers still holding out for 200-250k with 9% interest rates. Good luck.

I think the deep pocket collectors already have their cars or they are coming.

Stuck with the finance and budget guys now.

Good to know one owner thinks that.

On the book face, plenty of guys would have you believe otherwise. And the nut swingers will criticize you for thinking anything less.

Pretty sad that a blue collar muscle car turned into an unobtainable exotic.

Yeah agreed, really want a boosted huracan but waiting on the huracan market to soften a bit first, was really viewing this as a lateral move with the potential to cover a portion of the twin turbo kit, motec ecu, etc etc

I think a lot of cars aren't worth what their msrp is, just a matter of inflation and rising prices kicking in.

I think the real value lies in the collectors value for these cars tbh. Otherwise you are a 30k crate engine and a 10-15k narrowbody challenger shell away from recreating your own demon for no more than 50-60k.

The cars and housing market have went out of control. The 5k 1970 hemi car adjusted to 2024 should be 40k. Even adding some electronics 50k max not 90k. This is why the average guy back then had a muscle car and now he has to be above average guy now to

So for cars I have been a big proponent of financing and leasing having a negative effect on sticker prices on cars.

Having the ability to finance/lease allows manufacturers and banks to stretch everything out makes people look at the monthly payments more than the actual costs, essentially its a shroud of secrecy.

Our economy is very debt based i.e mortgage, credit cards, auto loans, etc etc

As long as financing remains a big part of this system the average man will always get f*cked.

I'll also blame the average man for not living in their means but that's a whole other conversation with caveats and nuances.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the car but in the end it's still a 2015 Hellcat with some upgrades. Definitely not $150K worthy and once you're in that price range it opens up several other options that might be.

Yeah, that's definitely a fair assessment.

The demon in general is a one trick pony, I think a redeye wb is probably a lot more fun and at a fraction of the cost.

Do you feel like one at msrp would be more worth it? I.e do you feel like the demon is a 125k car?

They should have limited
Production to 666 Demon170s

This would keep value
In both Demons

Honestly, not really. Maybe I'm bias since I only paid $64K for my Hellcat though and got to skip all the price increases and other non-sense. I think at original price it was closer to "value" assuming you like to go to the drag strip a few times a year and want a relatively fast car when doing so. The draw for me personally is I can drive it to the drag strip run pretty fast times, and drive home. If the drag strip isn't a primary focus I think a RE is better value, especially a gently used one.

MSRP on mine was $110K......still feels about $10K too high. I rationalized the purchase based on current new RE pricing at the time, and the fact the car would be a bit special to me because of how I got the opportunity. Those had non-quantitative value for me.

Yes and no. Once getting in that price range i have no interest in those cars so for me I would never be spending that much money on a car

110k? I think that would be the lowest sticker I have seen. Most are 113k up

10k price increase to be factored as well.

Every car you see now has a 10k price increase because it was not price order protected.

@vortecd I never thought I'd pay $100K for a car LOL

I think I posted my original order details in my Demon 170 thread. Orders placed before some time late August were quite a bit less than after that date.

Who would think you would pay a million dollars for a house?

I bought a COPO Camaro, built new for me in 2018, 8.5 second car, no warranty, not street legal, one of 29 built in that spec that year, $145k. Compare that to a D170 at $150k; high 8 sec car, full warranty, street legal. It's all relative, in my experience the D170 is a better value, for what I want out of a car like this.
