Alright, it took the dealer forever to get their SRT tech free'd up to actually remove the trans, but that got done a couple weeks ago and it was finally shipped to Dave who turned it around lickety split. My fixed/upgraded trans arrived back here on Tuesday and will be bolted back up in the car this afternoon or early tomorrow the dealer is telling me.
It did end up being a broken input shaft. I've been advised to run the trans in sport or track mode whenever I plan on driving it hard or going WOT, and to downshift ahead of time when I'm going to do a pull on the street to limit the harsh downshift that will happen otherwise. Luckily, holding the left paddle down in these cars makes that really easy.
Should have the car back for the weekend and hopefully this is the last update in this thread until I have a 9 second slip to share. At this rate, it might be next season. I think I'd like to enjoy the car for what's left of the season without risking any more down time
