Well the thing about 0-60 in 0.8secs, we know the Demon PEAKS at 1.8Gs accel when it launches and pulls the front up (published data), whereas the calculation I did was AVERAGE.

I know my slow ass M6 has roughly a .75G accel in 1st gear, so apparently I'm doing something wrong. What are this guys mods?

That stunning wrap has to take at least 1.5 seconds off his 0 - 60....

So, 0-60 mph in 10 seconds will expose you to 0.27g. Barely over a quarter of normal Earth gravity. To equal 1g of acceleration, a car would need to get to 60 in 2.74 seconds, roughly. If we want to be really, really exact, it looks like 1g is getting to 60 MPH in 2.73511683 seconds.

So, we all know 1g is no problem. Tesla Model S that can get to 60 in 2.39 seconds is pulling 1.14g, which is greater than Earth gravity, just by a bit. Again, no safety issue there. If we jump up to the acceleration levels of a top fuel dragster, we start seeing some bigger numbers.

A top-fuel dragster can go from 0-100 MPH is about 0.86 second—rockets don’t even accelerate that quickly, even if they do end up going much, much faster. That kind of acceleration is worth about 5.3g. Plenty, and you’ll definitely feel that (it’ll feel like you’re 5x your weight) but that’s not going to kill you.


SOoooo - he would have to be faster to 60 than a top fuel dragster is to 100

Great post, just wanted to add that I think our Hellcats are probably equaling the acceleration of a Tesla Model S if you are cutting high 1.4 or low 1.5 60 foot times at the drag strip.

You guys are pretty good. I had a subway sandwich in my mouth and was eating while reading it. So I simply knew he was full of shit and just brought this up. You will recognize some of the cars that can do it. This is good stuff, TF dragster AT FIRST anyway is quicker than a damn rocket!!
