I have a med device that I have to have around, and powered at night. The cabin in New Mexico can have power interruptions on occasion. I bought a Honda "licensed" portable battery and admitedly it was expensive, but it maintains a charge for years without maintenance. Quite impressive, though I believe it might show wear in other ways (for example, accelerated draw under usage) but for static measurement the level is always spot on. Unit is about 3/4 the size of a car battery.

Just an update on my battery. I parked the car in December and brought the battery inside. It was showing 13.3 on the battery monitor. About 2 months later it only dropped to 13.1. I put it in the Challenger for a day to get a load on it and took it back out. Showing 13.3 again. I have had lead batteries that needed a charge again after sitting so this one holds a charge pretty good
Thanks for the update; glad the "off brand" you found is working so well for you.

May have to replace the dealer's replacement battery soon (will check upon car's return from MMX) due to corrosion buildup on the hold-down strap buckle. Something's leaking somewhere to cause it.

How's the battery doing? Was looking at the same one you got
still good. Can't leave it in car for a couple of weeks without driving it or will kill it. Need to either unhook it or have a tender on it. Doesn't drop much after a few months sitting not hooked up.

My one year old one seems to have survived the period from early Nov to now fine. Every four weeks I hook up one of my trickle chargers (disconnect the Harley, then put it back) for a couple of days as it charges it to 100%. I have been disconnecting it from the car each time to avoid any chance of bricking my DS suspension controller. That car is going to be in the ground in the next 2-3 weeks I predict and back with us for the season.

I bought this one on amazon and had to send it back. My battery light would not shut off. It was showing 14.2 volts constantly while my 21 RE only showed 13.8 to 14.0 with my factory battery. I also got codes for ABS system and stability control suddenly. Coincidence? I don't know but this car has never thrown a code in its 7000 miles. I switched back to the factory battery and the battery light went out. I checked the voltage on the Lithium battery off the car and it was 14.2 volts. 1000008662.jpg

And I still have not gotten rid of the codes. The scanner says left rear tone wheel - general signal failure. I checked the wires to the sensor on that wheel and can find no damage or bad connections. The car has never been driven in the rain. Can an ABS ring suddenly go bad like that?

Battery made it today. I ordered it April 24th and it said May 14-June 7th for delivery so pretty happy it was early. It was advertised at 11.9 lbs but weighed 14.8 lbs. I made a bracket out of flat aluminum being it was shorter so I could bolt it down like the factory battery. Starts real fast like my arc angel did. Still a savings of 30lbs
Here is a link to it

Thats the one that caused my battery light to stay on. And then I got codes about ABS and stability control, with a scanner saying I have a bad left rear tone ring. It ran at 14.2 volts. I put my factory battery back and the battery light went out. It now runs at 13.8 to 14 volts. The codes have not cleared however. It's a ton of work to pull the rear suspension apart and replace the tone ring. I hate to go thru that if it could be an electrical problem caused by overvoltage.
And to make it worse...I pulled and replaced the rear axles with Gforce later on that day after the dash warning lights appeared. I had to remove the rings and put them on the new axles. I did not get the opportunity to get the codes read until a few days later! Like I really want to take it apart again after buying a new ring...if they are even available.
I will also check the fuse on the battery in case the higher voltage messed that up.

Anything can have an issue. My battery shows 13.3 not running, 14.2 seems high.
