2.5 Gallons is 10 quarts? Is my math wrong?
Ah, my mistake, thought it was a 2 gallon container.

Nah it's all good, you've been more than helpful. @zhc

...I'm just done with this rollercoaster... This car just doesn't want to work anymore and I'm really really over it. I just need to get a few passes with a working transmission and off it goes. It does not bring me joy anymore, even with passes on it, it won't bring me joy either. I'm going to price it aggressively so it will sell and wash my hands of it.

Mike has been working on the Mopar line of cars for about 15 years now, I think he did the procedure as required. Since I lost my access to a lift I've been scrambling in my head how to get this thing out just in case I have to send it back to Pure for re-inspection.

At TX2K this year in the parking lot, I used a Harbor Freight low profile trans jack on jack stands. I just needed to lift the front high enough to slide it out from under the car.

Pure called me today. They are 100% standing behind their product and guarantee it to be free from defects as it was spin tested from factory before shipping. They apologized profusely about the issues and want to support me and my racing goals. They have spoken internally and have analyzed all the data. They are shipping some fluid as they did not ship the additional quarts. They said since I had all lines flushed I could possibly be low. They commented on how recently they did a trackhawk and it was 3 quarts low with the lines flushed and it had the same issues I was having, they are confident this is the fix. I will go through the procedures to fill that they outlined and will test again. Its all I can do for now.

Losing my mind here. So Pure claims that the car needs some additional fluid, got the additional fluid and put in about two more quarts before I made a good mess on my garage floor. I started the fill as the car got to around 120*. Once buttoned up put the car in reverse, went in like butter. Reversed it out of my driveway, drove to the stop sign down the block, 1-2-3-4 smooth as butter, came down in gears just as smoothly. Then as I keep driving I noticed that as I go from 2->1 it bucks hard. Then it starts banging off 3rd gear again.

So some theory on transmissions and our clutches. We have 2 brake and 3 clutches, Brakes AB and Clutches CDE. To get gears 1 through 8 it is a combination of the clutches, for our purposes we will talk about gears:

1: ABC
2: ABE
3: BCE

If you want to find out what line pressures you will be commanded when in gear I suggest in HP Tuners you look at the following sections
1663384323482.png

So as an example we look at gear 3
1663384374191.png

If I spot check this in my logs, checks out:
1663384424596.png

So like I said everything was fine, car was going 1-2-3-4 no problem. Then I noticed as I started driving that it would bang off gears... Here is the transition from working to non working...

The log cursor splits it, on the left great, past it on the right, all hell breaks loose. Lets dig deeper...

Current Gear 1
Commanded Gear 2
A: 131 PSI
B: 131 PSI
C: Offgoing clutch, no pressure
E: Oncoming clutch, rising in pressure
1663384890016.png

where does this static 131 PSI come from?
1663384992730.png
All right so everything is tracking...
Current Gear: 2
Commanded Gear: 3
A: Offgoing clutch, no pressure
B: 131PSI
C: Oncoming clutch, rising in pressure
E: 131PSI

BAM, bangs off 3rd for no fucking reason....
1663385242993.png

Goes into limp mode and then it just a god awful experience. I am for sure now at my wits end with this. I have reached out to Pure as I don't know what to do. I'm ready to put it up as a roller for 50k, everything but trans, come grab it, drop in a trans and you'll have a 8 second car for sure. Log is attached.

Did you perform another fast relearn after filling to proper level?

I was advised by Pure to not do that. Only to reset adaptives. If you think it has merit I will do it tomorrow morning.

Interesting, well I would hate to go against what Pure is saying. But the trans can learn bad clutch clearances which leads to issues like what you’re describing. A relearn resets that.

Before trans goes back to Pure I am changing PCMs and looking for a 2015 TCM and Valve body. If anyone has a lead please let me know.

Wouldn't it be better to just send it back and tell them it don't work? Seems like you got proof the trans they sent doesn't work... if you change something in the trans they can say you modded it.... 🤷‍♂️

Some things take time. Patience is a virtue. Take a break and get some rest. I'm sure you will figure it out. Honestly I'd just tell them to send a new one or refund the money.

If you paid by cc you can dispute it and get your money back.

So Pure and I have been in contact. They are very supportive. When the transmission was going into limp mode I started to log the limp mode fields in vcm scanner as it would just send the trans into limp mode randomly. After reviewing logs it seems P2227 has been prevalent all along. This code is the following:

Trouble Code: P2227 (6.2L V8 VIN 9 Auto) BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE Trouble Code Conditions: Print this code data  The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects that the Barometric pressure value differs from the other TOP Sensor by a calibrated threshold. Possible Causes: PCM SOFTWARE UPDATE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

After speaking with a lot of people on the matter I went through all four of the map sensors. Cleaned and then reinstalled, even replaced o-rings as necessary. Couldnt get viton green so black neoprene will have to do! After doing that, cleared all codes, let the car sleep for an hour and it started the car. P2227 instantly and then limp mode again. So I sent out the two spare PCMs I have to be unlocked hopefully this might be a fix. Fingers crossed, if this isnt a fix then it has to get dropped and sent back.

Good luck bro. You need some.
