I still find it amusing that the '18 Challenger costs me less than the '14 Ram 1500.
I'm in the same boat in Canada....my 2017 Titan is 1200 and the HC is 800 a year. We get some decent discounts as we have 4 vehicles, motorhome, quad and house all bundled together.....but it's a eye-popping $7k a year all total.

Just got a letter from the insurance company that I had feared; the policy for the Trackhawk.
Thankfully it wasn't bad at all, under $47 per month, with the highest chunk being collision with a 1K deductible.

I just renewed with the lizard. My 16 HC and my wife's 12 Grand Cherokee. Full coverage plan with 300k/300k, but a $1000 deductible. $786 for 6 months.

Car insurance commercials all have the same pitch..."You can save Hundreds!".

Total BS...I've shopped around for quotes and no one is even close...most of their competitors are at least double.

No this is not an ad for the lizard.

Got my annual renewal for the fleet, 17 Tacoma, 16 Hellcat and 07 FJ Cruiser, $3,014.87

I was offered a $386.41 discount if I pay for the year in advance. $2,648.46

I used my Visa with cash back for another 2% $52.97

Net insurance cost for the year on 3 vehicles $2,595.49

Savings $419.38‬

Anyone else prepaying?

Using cash back or mileage credit card for payments?
Wow...that's crazy cheap...I really gotta start shoppin my insurance around

Hmm. I would have pegged the acceleration, cornering, and speeding graphs. In the wrong way, unfortunately. Well beyond "poor", to be specific.
On the other hand, I'd have a good grade in braking (unless I see a cop too late, or deer/elk).

Where I'd score big time is phone use. No time to talk (heck, barely think) when driving the 'Cat.

Yeah, my normal put'zn around town commute is 35-45 mph zones, light every 1/8th of a mile. So, I have to run outta my way to have some fun. 😂

Auto-Owners since 2009. Checked against many other companies every 6 months or so, just to make sure. They have always been the lowest total cost. We have our auto, home owners, and umbrella policy with them so get a significant multiple policy and annual pay discount. 4 cars, 1 motorcycle, house. A deer ran into the side of the front fender of the HC last summer while cruising at 60 mph, and Auto-Owners was great to work with. As you can imagine, a real low point. I am not a salesperson and have no vested interest in their success.

I pay more for USAA because in the past they were awesome to work with and had great rates (because it was originally limited to only military officers - they tend to be better risks than the general population). However, someone went to business school and had the bright idea of opening membership up to enlisted (that I'm fine with) and family members... but then it keeps being broadened in search of pure numbers / headcount and at this point if your great-great-great-great-great-great-grand pa served in the Civil War you and your dog are eligible. They also started "out sourcing" some services, which means service and accountabllity has gone to hell. Looking at these numbers I may start shopping around. 5 cars, house, cabin, business policies and umbrella, someone should give me some kind of break. Lord knows I need one.

Older post I know but just ran into this now too. Apparently they made that change three yrs ago after I was already insured with them. Grandfathered in. That wont help me now with the new RE. Currently shopping for a new ins co. Annoying because their rates here where I live were awesome.

After posting I saw the Auto Owners post. Looked into that and it took me to Progressive which actually matched what I was previously paying with The Hartford. 2020 RE, 2013 Lincoln MKX, and my daily - ‘04 GMC Sierra 2500HD for $1600/yr prepaid. $1775 installments. Good rate for now but I know the game. Come renewal time I think they’ll jack it up. For now it will work and give me time to do more research I guess.

I just swapped my Hellcat insurance from State Farm to Grundy. My State Farm agent would not give me a straight answer on value. when I asked how they determined the value in case of a total loss, she said a fair market value! I said for whom, You or me? no answer. So i switched to Grundy with an agreed value of $70K. It will never change unless I change it. Full coverage, But you cant daily drive it to work. You must have a second car. And it must be stored in a garage when not being used. And I saved $400.00 over State Farm. ( I am not a Grundy salesmen) just passing on information to anyone that has thought about agreed value insurance.

I don't remember the numbers now, but a while ago I tried Grundy. Aside from that it was a somewhat cryptic process, the Challenger was to become quite a bit more than what I'm paying at State Farm.

I may just have got a bad representative that didn't know his stuff, but I gave up.

It seemed like a pretty straight forward process, told them what agreed value I wanted and they sent me the details of the policy. and agreed to the value and sent me a annual quote. I mailed them the signed policy and payment and they sent me my proof of insurance. It may vary due to different state laws.

Well, in my case (as I recall) there had to be X number of other vehicles on the policy, so I listed a few.
The Challenger was still high, and most of the other ones also higher.

Tried adding a few other ones instead, but while the Challenger came down a bit, it was still more than I'm paying now, by maybe 50%. So I gave up.
But maybe I should give them another chance, and try with only the Challenger.

I was after the agreed value. The lower premium was a bonus in my case. I have lost cars before, and took a beating from insurance on them, when they pull the Kelly Blue book out and give about half what it would take to replace it.
