I have been reading the thread about the new Charger and what Chrysler has to offer these days and it got me wondering what was my last "new" car purchase and why? I didn't have a lot of brand new options (from Chrysler anyway) at the time and there are even less today...
When I say new, I mean something that was less than a few years old (say less than about 5 years old) when purchased. My last purchase was a 2016 Dodge Dart in 2021. The Dart is only a commuter, but it's been a fairly good car, considering everything.
What was your last purchase and why?
Just bought a new 2025 Cadillac XT4. The wife loves the little Cadillac, this is her third XT4, really nice car. As you know, wife wants car, wife gets car...

Had a blast whipping one of those around the slalom at Radford but with red stripes. Wife wants one and tells me all the time nut i have too many other vehicles at the moment, plus I could not find one close, so she got her Wrangler to play with instead.
It is a great what I call an urban assault vehicle. Very quick and nimble. Comfy as hell.

They gave me a new Compass to use for a day this week. Tell me how to load the 60hp back into that little engine it had in a Jeep and I liked it. It was light, well appointed, quiet, comfy and seemed to get around pretty good.

Wife had an 18 Durango GT until 21 when she went back to a Cherokee, said it was the dumbest car decision she's ever made!

My latest new car was the '23 Challenger GT AWD, after that I got a '19 Durango GT AWD.

The most recent arrival is my girlfriend's Crew Cat. It was a bit tricky to find a new '23 Charger a few months ago, in Granite.

Ordered and purchased my 2023 Super Stock as my last new ride. Currently, being patient and waiting to see what version of the TRX is coming back:) 1000008735.jpg

My 2024 Genesis GV70 - the Ultramarine Blue interior looks & feels like something you'd expect to find in an up-level Merc or Audi !

Oops, I may have misunderstood the thread title.

My latest new car purchase was most likely also my last. There's nothing out there that interests me - besides, I have enough cars as it is.

Can never go wrong with Black
Well, as I'm now re-learning for the 4th time  (yeah, I'm stupid) black shows every tiny scratch/swirl/mark with a vengeance
I thought the metal flake on the Genesis would help hide the imperfections, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Just like all my other black cars it seems to attract fine scratches if I just look at it :(

Not the best color choice if you are OCD about stuff like that !

Or live where it's sunny and/or the temperature exceeds 30 degrees.

Only if you look close. They all look good going down the road.

But it shows dust and dirt like a mofo. I remember my 260Z that I had done in multiple coats of black lacquer. I would just finish wiping it down and you would see dust all over it.
Very frustrating.

FWIW, after sitting in the garage over winter (a few years back) i noticed a lot of very fine scratches all over the car. After a good wash, they had disappeared. I concluded that they were spider web.
