Warranty and service would become a cluster-f..k
Right and whats amazing is how many think the greed of the dealers is always the problem. The INDUSTRY is so backwards and ask me how I know being I owned a full service Tractor dealership with the brands of Toro, Stihl, Gravely, Kioti, Sure track Trailers…..etc. I had 10 employees and a huge shop and property. 8k a month rent plus payroll and all the other expenses. 40k a month just for overhead. I had to make room for each manufacturer to display their products. I had to put together the machines to be sold, I had to hold inventory to sell the machines. I had to perform warranty work for any manufacturer issues. The list goes on and on……I looked at this business model and thought wow how stupid are you in this industry. And you had to floor plan all this stuff unless you just had 1 million dollars or more you could tie up to hold and then manage the inventory. Then on top of this the Floor plan would give you typically 9 months or so to sell the equipment. If you didn’t sell it you had the option to buy the equipment and or pay huge interest fees per month on your floor plan bill. Most people are clueless on how much it costs to run a business and do not understand the challenges to stay in business. The Big Box stores are totally opposite like Home Depot and Lowes…..etc. They charge the manufacturers “Floor Space“ per month for the manufacture to display and sell their products. Uh huh hey thats a real deal business plan to actually make money off the manufacture. The Manufacture loves the arrangement with all these dealers being they sell the dealers products and make a good amount of money off of them. And sure the business model will change as does the vehicles but smoke and mirrors for the get rid of the dealers anytime soon.

My favorite was,,,, do I have to comment on this?? Ok, favorite was the Vega early 70s time bomb with a very un orchestrated gas tank. On the info tank of decommissioned Plymouth products my family owned and destroyed was wide spread. My brother put me thru the windshield of a brand new 64 Barracuda on the top of Lookout Mt Tenn and over a 400 ft plus bluff was hanging by 1 cable. The car was 1 cable out of going over and I was trapped in the windshield with dash stuck up my ass. Not where you want to be on Sat night. I picked glass out of my____----- face for 6 months. Being to be picked for the Olympics for swimming at McCallie School, not good. It was a military school and did not look at this intervention with traffic court lightly. I am a brief reflection of my child hood.
Damed that was bad Hick!!! My memory of lookout was with a hot chic back in the early 70,s like 72! .....My first NEW car I ever had was 1972 Vega I loved that car....Nice foam matress in back open the htachback in da woods on dates and yehaw!!! back when Boones Farm Strawberry Hill was cool and forrest rangers were none!

I’m in the middle of the group. Let’s have a party, I’ll be the 75 yr old. From what this thread sounds like sounds like, we will be bringing some good old hopped up Hellcats with us.

Well some of my memories of that era was not so good. I ended up at McCalie for 3 years. That's enough to kill any one. It was nice growing up there in the 70s with the cars,,,,, the cars. Isn't that why we purchase these cars. To have a memory flash back of cars, weed, the young gals??

These cars are light years ahead of the 60s and 70s muscle cars. My flashbacks of always turning wrenches has not returned.

We have today is what the muscle car has evolved into. It was not catapulted from the 70s till now. We had to have an evo thru the oil industry 4 different times. A couple of worthless wars. I think about the 70s when I am in the H/C and have good memories of the 1st generation muscle cars. And the gals.

I always hated flames. Get someone to do like a “shred” he called it. He would be reasonable for a whole car I am sure.

Ahh, Boones Farm wine & a hot chick in the AMC family wagon (had a/c + front seats that folded down completely & merged with the backseat) and long, dirt country roads that lead to nowhere - fun times !!!
