Lmfao of all the typos for all the cars hahaha
The car came with 3 mos of Sirius XM (cheaped out used to be a year) but it also came with 1 year of Sirius Guardian. Anyone had much luck with Guardian? It'll text me if my alarm goes off and has a vehicle finder on there that's been accurate so that's cool. Like most things Sirius, it's difficult to determine what the cost is after the free year....maybe $260/yr?

However, this doesn't give me warm fuzzies. Obviously a typo but......

Got enrolled for the two day drag course at Radford that's also included. You have 3 years to use it.
Jealous. My 2017 came with a free day of Bondurant driving school, but only 1 year to use it, and that year my work schedule didn't allow for it--so I never got to go.

The Guardian piece is merely the 2018-up replacement for the Uconnect that we all love and hate on the 2015-2017 vehicles.

Sirius/Guardian is notorious for jacking up the cost and/or switching you to a higher cost plan without saying anything when current term is expiring. The approach I take is to call them around that time when the notices start popping up in your email and call them in a very direct tone that you are going to cancel everything unless they get the price back down to what you are willing to pay. Has worked every time for me, including just last week for my two newer vehicles.

Exactly! Works everytime just give yourself a notification a month before that plan expires so your not auto renewed at that crazy high price.

The app is pretty much like UConnect - can locate the car, get some data like oil life, fuel level, etc., I guess unlock the doors and stuff, but honestly don't use it too often. I will say it was kind of nice tracking my Charger when it was getting shipped cross country - was able to "ping" the car and have it report back and see the route the driver took, where he was, where overnighted, etc. Did the same when the Durango was getting shipped too now that I think of it.

I never enabled all the Uconnect features on the Hellcat, so I'm not all that familiar. Seeing the car's location and sounds like it can do location history would be nice, and getting notified if the alarm is triggered as well. I'll need to test it out. I got a year.

There are 2 of these tracking deals on your car, both tapping into the GLOBAL TELEMATICS BOX MODULE (should be on your build sheet) to track you.
There is the 'FCA/Brand Connected Services' which comes ACTIVATED on all their new cars. And the 'Uconnect SiriusXM/Guardian' which you have to accept (dealer may have already done that for you ).

Here is the link to all the shit they track and what you need to do to make big brother go away if you are so inclined. On our older cars, you had to opt-in to activate the tracking, but now you have to take action to get it turned off.

So you can contact them to opt out but then lose the ability to get location of the vehicle etc. Guess I'm leaving mine enabled for now.

I have been wrestling with this for a while. As MikeD1 noted, they collect a lot of data and I don't trust them one iota with what they are or could do with it, but my wife drives our newer stuff and I do like the radio for road trips, etc., so I have kept them active. I totally divorced my Challenger from UConnect with a full data wipe last year after they royally pi$$ed me off. One day I'm going to do the full defeat on the comm capabilities on the car.

I would call & press them on that issue, I'd bet they will not actually disclose the location of the vehicle to you. Don't want to be responsible for you going to reclaim it & getting hurt/killed or effing up some shitbird(s) that richly deserve it !

I can see exactly where it is in the app on my phone. I can even hit an icon and it gives me directions.

PPF is done and it came out nice. Anyone in mid TN that needs a good installer I can recommend one. The installer matters more than the film used IMO.

In this pic, the rear flares and quarters are done, behind the front tires to about half way down the doors, and the first 12" or so of the hood and front fenders including the scoop, a pillars, and 6" of the roof up to the windshield. The part he's installing in the pic is the front end which was several die cut pieces.

The "matte" that he used on the scoop is slightly different sheen than the matte black paint. You can barely see it, but I'd rather that than rock chips. Once I put ceramic on it I think it'll darken the flat black and more closely match.

What's the cost on something like that if you don't mind my asking?

I find the amount of detailed data they collect to be crazy out of bounds and 98% is not really needed to provide the little 'service' they offer in exchange for signing up. What really pisses me off is they now default to collecting your data/tracking you and you have to chase them down to turn it off (if they even actually comply). My earlier Dodge's I had to op-in, ditto our Infiniti's & the Genesis.
