As for getting the "right" car, I honestly wasn't sure when I ordered it. At the time a Redeye was over $100K so it didn't seem like a wise decision to go with that when I could get the Demon 170 for not much more.

I was actually worried I wouldn't like it. @jonx96 can attest to that. He and I chatted a bit and I told him I was worried it'd be noisy, or ride weird, or something else. So far it drives as good or better than my Hellcat did and is smoother/quieter in a lot of respects which was a pleasant surprise.

So far I can't tell a difference in the brakes, the throttle inputs feel more refined which coulda been my fault since I tuned my old car and I can't remember how it drove stock. Suspension was my biggest worry and I've been through some curvy roads with it and it does fine.
You have different choices on ride so I would not have even thought about that one. Not having rear seat could add more but your last one had the rear seat delete?
Hellcats came with a lot of stuff as standard with some options. As the years went on some of the standard stuff turned into options and into packages. You can still build a 2023 online so I went into different models and don't see any that have rear sound. Closest I could find which was for the Super Stock

Driver Convenience Group
$1,295
  • Blind-Spot and Rear Cross-Path Detection
  • Body-Color Exterior Mirrors
  • Exterior Mirrors with Heating Element
  • High Intensity Discharge Headlamps
  • Power Multi-Function Mirrors with Manual Fold-Away

Maybe the 23's don't have it? I can't find it even on an R/T unless it is standard on it

You would think that would be it I guess

Speedy do you have the blind spot lights in the side mirrors? Do you have that group as an option?

How does it protect?
On my SS if the car detects something behind it it suddenly sounded like there was a forklift back up horn going off inside the car. BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. To call it obnoxious is an understatement.

It sounds like if a car or someone is walking behind you. Your Hellcat should have it

OK. The obnoxious beeping sound. It goes off if someone is 15 yards away.

The Challenger had something on the front that turned the car so I didn't hit the car in front of me. Saved my ass once but it wanted to freak out too often for me.

So what do you think about my Redeye out running you on the open road? Not starting shit just kidding. I have her to 176. Scarred me😉

I said in another thread, if the 149mph thing turns out to be accurate it won't bother me much. In 7 years of WOT testing in the Hellcat I only went over 149 once. It WOULD have been better if they'd made it 170mph though IMO.

You would think that would be it I guess

YES, it has the lights in the mirrors, and cross path detection I believe. I'm pretty sure I heard the BEEP BEEP BEEP the other day backing out of a parking space.

Window sticker says Park Sense on it as well as one of the standard features.

If you are backing out of a parking space at WM and someone is coming down the lane, it will warn you so you can stop and avoid being T-Boned. It can really help if you are between trucks or vans and your view is blocked.

Does the 170 have 4 piston front calipers?

Is it speed limited?

It will probably burn a piston or 2 if you run it full for too long.

4 piston front brakes. Speed limited is a question, but seemingly 149mph.

I doubt it'll ever burn a piston. It's got all the bypass safety stuff that drops boost if things aren't what they're supposed to be.

I don't really want a Redeye. I'd have to start with the mods all over again. This one will run faster than my old car (I think) and rides and drives as good or better on the street. Kind of a win win. Plus what would I do with the special serialized Jay Leno products that were custom mixed just for this particular Go Mango with flat black hood Demon 170?

So far that's about the only negative I've found with this car. All the stupid hype and foolish people over paying for them. I'd rather have the car than the money at this point. If I sold it it'd be to buy a Porsche 911 Turbo.

If by some miracle a Redeye 170 is produced, that might get my attention though.

for msrp it’s a great car. For 200k it is not.
glad to see you putting some miles on the thing. I’m sure you’ve turned a lot of heads. Bet you can’t wait for spring track time. A redeye 170 would sell like wild fire.

Rain the next 4 days :( I had hoped to get to 500 by next weekend.

Will be a good time to ceramic coat it I guess.

Turning heads...meh. I don't think most know what it is although someone in a C7 Vette followed me all over town yesterday....suspiciously.
