Well, I don't quite see why anyone would have to pay a big ADM, for anything.

Okay, if a doctor says that for an extra $30K I can probably keep you alive, I'd most likely be willing. But for something I don't need....

It's a bit like when I sell a vehicle, I don't mind getting paid as much for it as the market will support.

I think this whole mess was created by dodge and by design as well. I wonder how different the market would look if orders were on a sold order basis with shorter cut off dates and ACTUAL SPECIAL EDITION CARS, this might be a controversial take but if a scat pack isn't a manual I really don't think they should get special editions.

Black ghost = good homage
Demon 170 = last hurrah (dope)
King daytona = homage + redeye (so ok)
Manual scat pack = homage + lineage + fun

The rest of these special editions are flat out garbage and should have never seen the light of day. Special edition means special, the hellcats/redeyes are special, the 392s are an amazing car in the own right but in no way shape or form outside of a manual deserve these overpriced special editions.

Ferrari does not make special edition california's because they are a base model car, you don't see bmw making special edition m340s/m550s/m760s, the list goes on and on.

I don't think Dodge created the mess. For example, we went on a hunt for an RS6 Avant, and while most dealers wanted a $30K ADM, or more, I found one where we could order at MSRP.

Then buying a Porsche Dakar was brought up. Well, that potential purchase didn't happen after being told to expect a $150K to $200K ADM.

It sure seems to me that it's a matter of supply and demand. Free market if you will. As long as there are people willing to pay extra for something they want, and/or for instant gratification (off the lot vs. ordering), there will understandably be someone that'll offer that vehicle. For a fee.

I mean to be fair Jimmy dodge was building vehicles on a sold order basis, why they went to an allocation model for the last year when dodge dealers have no idea how to handle an allocation based model is a huge part of the problem, bmw, audi, porsche, ferrari, lamborghini, Mercedes, ford, gm, etc etc have all been using an allocation system on their high end cars for years but dodge just kinda went to this model overnight and it messed up everyone.

Porsche in General never makes big #s as far as production goes, so dealers have either stayed loyal to their customers or gone wild with the adms. There are still porsche dealers that only do msrp but they have waitlists for 5+ years lol.

To a point yes but that's market conditions in general, these are the same consumers that created power dollars as well.

I'm not mad at msrp deals on these 2023s but the wild 20,30,40k, etc etc on these cars is money you would never get back, it would be more fun to light it on fire and put a video on yt lol.

Dodge should of just said at Speed Week they are cancelling the Redeye, Super Stock, King Daytona, Black Ghost, drop the Durango Hellcat idea, and just made about 6,666 Demon 170's. I don't think anyone would complain at that idea and have people grab allocations online like they did with the 300c.

I was mentioning this earlier.
Why even bother with the other bullshit when they have the resources to build 10k 170s.
They knew they had a hit on their hands. And at 100k base, did they really expect these would just sit?

I hate Dodge playing the limited edition bull shit. It really does not do them the service they think it does.

Chevy only made about 2k ZR1s in 2019, but everyone believed there would be more coming and held off. It wasn't until the final 2 months of production did the public learn that the ZR1 was 1 and done and prices went from under MSRP to markups. Now some examples sell for over 200k!!

But Chevy did it right. Anyone who wanted a ZR1 was lead to believe they could get one. But the MSRP was 145k if im not mistaken. So it was never a cheap car to begin with.

I think Dodge should have priced the car at 125k base or 135k base to make money on the CF wheels, and said they will sell to demand.
How many dealers would be holding allocations ransom if the dealer down the street can order one or two as well?
