Received HELLCAT DURANGO on 3-17-2021, YES...HELLCAT!!!!

well guys.....the day finally came.....680 miles......did launch control at 2000 rpm, spun all FOUR 295mm wide tires for 30-40 feet, grabbed 2nd and hooked, hit 0-60 in a long 3.8 seconds two times in a row!!! feels totally different than the srt 6.4, the hellcat is actually smoother and seems less violent, but pushes so hard back into seat, hard to hold head up! didnt have the balls to turn up rpm yet. did hit 11 psi on dash, but was a very cool day.....which is why traction was my problem. the sounds out exhaust when at WOT in launch control is awesome....then all hell breaks loose!

FYI, my understanding of the "shortages" is not that there is actually shortages, but when the slowdown due to the pandemic hit, the auto-manufacturers didn't place the orders they normally would have to try and save themselves.

Being that the orders have to be placed a year in advance, they basically screwed themselves.

Chip suppliers like Foxcon sold that unused production capacity to other customers...

Or so the story goes...

Correct. What I saw from the contract standpoint wasn't even that they didn't place new orders, but they shit canned existing orders (and paid penalties, significant penalties, to do so). You can manage a truly global business looking only a few quarters ahead.

I’m in the same boat. My HellCat has been sitting for 6 weeks. I’m in NY. The dealer had 2 delivered already. But they only had 3 for allocation. Guess I’m lucky #3. I wonder if the packages we added to the Truck made the difference. I was Black with Black Stripe and red Pin. Red interior. Blackout package. But DVD player and tow package. Wonder if that made a difference.

My dealer said the expected ship date to him was changed from May 1 to May 20...Stellantis sent me an email the factory slowed down but will continue to work thru May into June...seems every car manufacturer worldwide is slowed due to microchip issues...I know someone working in Austria making high end Mercedes and BMW where they sent the guys home until they can get supplies..

no,when i talked to the dealership 2 months before order opening, i told them i had 2 stipulations, one was that NOONE touches the vehicle until i get there the same day it is delivered, the other is that i will pay FULL STICKER, and NO bump, and they totally agreed, Friendship CDJR in Bristol Tennessee was totally awesome to deal with. They also had a very hard time actually getting Dodge to send the vehicle to them, even though mine was ordered within 5 minutes of when dodge opened their site to order to the dealers. dbol777, i hope you receive yours and it is built as you ordered, i came close to ordering that color combo, but Pearl White is just easy to take care of, especially now that i have Graphine coated mine. Also now have almost 700 miles, and started running a little harder, only pulls in 4th gear and up, feels good so far, but so did my '18 SRT Durango which i loved. only have seen 9 psi so far...what is normal for HCs from everyone else?

Great ride, congrats. Looking to upgrade from 2020 DSRT to Hellcat. DSRT's are selling at my purchase so I am good on that end. Problem with the Hellcat inventory to the point that dealer markup is approaching 20K above sticker consistently. I will not pay. How did you avoid the premium?

hey, Gavs, i guess all the snooty dealers that put a "AMV" sticker on vehicles really just dont want to sell cars, nor care about customers, so piss on them, go on down the road, find another one, tell them straight up, you are NOT paying the AMV! the problem now, is the dealers that have one in stock, knows how rare and how hard to get they are, so they think they are sitting on "gold". i got lucky to deal with a good dealership that werent total self-serving idiots. GOOD NEWS though, got to run it in the 1/4 a couple times on drag strip....i got a 11.9 sec at 115mph, which i thought was really good at around 6000 Lb and 90 degrees out! also hit 0-60 in 3.5 sec (on street). also received and installed my JLT cold air intake(only company to make one so far), and it sounds soooooo much louder and better, 100% HAVE TO PUT ON HELLCATS!! when cars pull up beside, and want to play, just give them a couple cars jump, then all they hear is the "whine" as you fly by...haha.

Not bad for the temps. You will have to go out in the fall when the air is better. I ran 1/2 second faster from the summer heat to the cool fall weather

Update on avoiding Sticker premium- In short, I was able to get a list of all dealers within 200 miles with DSRTHC either on lots or allotted. Called several but all were marked $20-25K. Abandoned that strategy quickly. Went back to the most trusted dealer and gave him a riddle to solve, that was find me HC base model (limited color range) with no markup and I will pay sticker. Two weeks later I got a call offering me one of 2 allotted HCs to be built as part of the 1000 additional builds starting in June 2021. The next morning I was at the dealer and ordered the HC of my choice an F8 Green 2xv package. $82.5K. It was an experience to sit at the computer and select the exact trim/color. It has now moved to status D (have vin) and I wait for a ship date (likely will be confirmed next week). Dealer estimates 8-10 weeks for delivery. Sold my SRT last week (Destroyer grey base package with only 2500 miles). Paid sticker less $5.5K but recovered full sticker on it after 8 months (that's a first). I guess I lucked out

Right, Durango HC. And yes I feel blessed to have the ability to make such a large purchase. The salesman is a solid guy. Feel like I jumped the line as I have only owned the one other Dodge product (the SRT) for 8 months. Now all the guilt aside, I am looking forward to getting this beast!

Update on timeline for DHC build. Still at status D after I ordered on June 12. Dealer responds to all inquiries, says I will most likely receive confirmation next week on the build date, which is running approximately 8 weeks from notice, plus ship 1-2 weeks. Amazed to learn that that it takes just 1 day to build the truck (assuming no frills). If timeline holds, I am looking at approximately 3 months from order to pressing engine start. Perhaps get some fall road trips in. Otherwise its the daily for now.
