V86 Emissions Recall

Sorry, confusion here, exactly what is happening?

Welding or replacing entire section?

Replacement of the cat and down pipe section. No welding required.

That is exactly what is happening. Here is a picture from underneath my car in the shop as they were doing them


Replace the entire section, sorry if that wasn't clear. The entire mid pipe with the cat. Also new narrowband and wideband sensors and a PCM flash.

No PCM flash for me.

I haven't seen any thing by mail yet on recall but it probably won't get done like the cruise control recall because I'm tuned , oh well , no issues so far ?

I had my dealer call Monday and told me about the recall. Getting done today. They said 7 cars have been done with no problems reported.

This is what I was led to believe by the parts department. I paid for part "53010678AJ". When I looked up that part # I got the following:


Dodge Challenger 2019 SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye6.2L V8 - Gas
Dodge Challenger 2018 SRT Demon, SRT Hellcat6.2L V8 - Gas
DodgeChallenger, 2017SRT Hellcat6.2L V8 - Gas

I did some digging as you gave me a moment of doubt and found that the part number is 53010846AB, so I may not have the part. This makes me sad.

Yep, but I needed a drive shaft and since DSS and others have a month lead time it is what it is. Oh well, I'll just ride it till I break it again.

Interesting that I have not had any notification from any source, but when I look up my VIN on the FCA site it says the recall needs to be applied.

Dodge is a joke on replacement warranty work. How many months did I have to wait before they could get the head unit available? And this other shit? I'm sure it saves a ton of money, but I've often wondered if they've run the increased quality control / non-third world suppliers savings vs. the increased cost and savings in customer pissed offedness.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that I should find out if my nav system even works...before the warranty is up.
Not that I'd subject my car to a dealer even if it doesn't, but at least I could make the dealer aware of it.

I just got the recall done to day you might want to wait. They flash the ecu as well. Now when I shut the car off it makes a noise like a sucking chest wound. I went back to the dealer. The tech knows his $hit. The blower is blowing PSI out the throttle body, when you turn the car off. He stalled the car (M6) and no noise. I wonder if the older Cats ecus are different than the newer models. DUH...I think FCA Fuc%ed on there update. I hope they figure this $hit out . I want to drive my Cat on the route 66 trail next month. I hope they don't fuc% up my vacation.

So I experienced that as well when I got home. I’m doing a read of the PCM to compare tunes.

also the pcm is not recognized, had to select the pcm manually:



doing a read now and then grabbing some coffee and doing a comparison in vcm editor.

Went to do a read of the PCM/TCM as I have done before. I got this error message from HP Tuners.



Currently on the HPTuner forums looking for a solution.

Going to work it out with HPTuners, this is a new OS that they may not have come across yet, IF YOU ARE TUNED STOP, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT GET THIS RECALL DONE, you will not be able to tune or read logs.
