Inspecting my LMI intake I noticed the grommet, for the hose thingy, was cracked and no longer rubber... but a crystaline structure.

I ordered a silicone rubber version, from McMaster Carr and will re-install, tomorrow. This is a high temp version, good to 650°F.

Caught it, just before pieces entered the intake stream. If you have one, you might want to inspect the grommet.

McMaster part Number: 1061T148.

Installed the grommet and intake, today.

Everything fits, looks and sounds great.

I never took a car to a show, In addition to the exterior, interior, wheels, don't you need to detail the engine compartment with Q-Tips? I'm afraid if I show up with dust on the engine and dog hair all over the interior I'd be out of place. I only detail my car the day before I sell it!

I'm sure yours isnt trashed like a lot of peoples cars. I vacuum my car a few times a year and wash it every week or 2 and it looks good being it is my daily. I have seen people show up with dirty cars or even something that should not be in a show for whatever reason. As long as it is washed before hand you will be fine. It doesn't have to be show room clean

In da my house I grew up in, sum wut, I went to UT Chattanooger, brotuh graduated frum University of Ga, my parents and gran parents grduated frum Auburn, da rest of da clan came frum Tallerhassmee, and Gainesville. Mon, watt an SEC mis hapster. Butt, all in guud fun and excitement. All dawgs were invited to shed er snot. Even da wives were ok.

depends on what your dirty is. I wouldn't take a dirty car to a car show or the drag strip but thats me. I also drive my car more then the other 80% at most shows

They're not car shows. They are car meets. No judging or trophies. It's a hangout for car people.

Haha! If that were the case I would never go! My car is clean but never spotless, hell I didn’t even wipe down the wheels. Quick hand was and blow dry, wipe down with a cloth so no water spots and it’s good to go.

They have this Credit Union sponsored show three times a year and they DO give out awards, trophies and plaques. It’s kind of like our yearly rolling car show, everything and everyone is welcome. Clean or not, daily or show car, doesn’t matter! You meet some amazing people there. The couple a few down from us have been married 68 years and brought there unrestored 1930 model A (thing is awesome plus she brought peanut butter cookies for everyone😊)
Guy next to them had a 1913 Model T that looks like it just rolled off the show room floor. Most original I’ve ever seen and then next was a Ridler Award worthy 69 Camaro! I wet my pants just looking at it🥴😜🤪

There was another gentleman brought his daily Toyota pickup, all stock ! No mods or tires or exhaust, nothing!

I asked him to show me his car. He pointed over to the parking lot outside the meet area. It looked like some kind of econo box Chevy or something. I just laughed.

There's always some joker, who considers himself an expert, on whatever your driving. I do the same thing... I just ask them, "where is yours?" and laugh.

Never did a car show...but do an occasional coffee n cars thing...rarely stay more than an hour..(I aint draggin a lawn chair around in my trunk)...and almost always some meathead busts my balls for not opening my hood
