They paved a few roads around me that were beautiful then they did that on top of them. They say they last longer:rolleyes:
They did that crap on the backroads of jersey when I was a kid. The street I grew up on was that for years. Tough when you lay down a bike.

Same here. Totally repaved one last summer and chip sealed it this summer. I won’t drive on them until that dusty stone smell goes away. I feel penned in right now with all the work being done.

They would spray the asphalt, put the stone over it and light roll it. It was sticky for a few months, especially in the summer.

Ouch. I have a vivid memory of going over the handlebars on a dirt and gravel road. Couldn’t make the 90 degree turn at the bottom of the hill.

There I was, in my 9th grade year of school, on my bike by buddy's house, going down hill as fast as I could... (he dared me, I had no choice...)

So as I broke the sound barrier in 10th gear, in my best tuck position, I had to make the left hand turn onto his road, which was a reverse banked road because of the overall grade of the hill in the area...

Again, I was above the sound barrier, legs going like mad... But somewhere back about 1000yards ago, my guardian angle said "I'm outta here..." and left me high and dry...

About the time I hit 60degrees of lean, the tires on that bike said "We're outta here too" and I went for a another 1000 yards (seemed like it anyway) on my side, experimenting with the CoF of my clothes, then my skin, then my flesh on the road surface...

:(

Yep, rock chip road with tar adhesive and coming off a motorcycle is like an industrial human cheese grater. Enough velocity and even a full leather setup won’t get you much slide time Before road rash sets in. Having ridden for years gives me shivers thinking bout it.

Spit under my MT 315/50R17 with anything more than a feather on the the right side pedal and it’s a skill test, especially if wheel is turned. Translation watch you shit and stay on ya common sense game if you have DR’s and caught in the rain.

Spun the Charger on I95 after a rain storm. It was soon after that time that the 1st trailer was purchased.

That is a god awful feeling, and also what is called a free cardiac stress test with driver recertification test rolled into one quick event.

Interesting you say that. I had run the nittos because they are great in the rain. I have been in heavy rain with no worries going down the highway
MTs are spooky in the rain.
Nittos were not as bad, but what would you expect from a drag radial.

Yea, I was in traffic. I was doing about 40, crossing an overpass and it was filled with water. Car went left 90°. I brought it back to hard and it went 90° to the left. Got it straight and pulled over. Waited for the highway to dry.

I was on street rs.

Be very careful in anything more than a light rain. They hydroplane very easily.
Can’t be as bad as the N05’s
My cars never, ever go out in the rain. 😉
I’ve always tried that too but have been caught in 3 torrential down pours! Driving home from Road Kill nights was my last one. Never stopped to wait but only drive under 50 mph in outside lane and a little off center to stay on the high points,
Never been caught in rain?
Yep been caught 3 times out and about and the factory DRs really really suck!

What sucks even more is the supplier just called me and said the listing was a mistake and Nitto does not have the RII’s scheduled for production until next year!!

That would be tricky with all season tires hydroplaning, hair standing on back of neck just thinking of it w/ DRs.

That be a bitch with lead time especially in Fla with storms that can just pop up periodically.

You’re 100% correct. Exit stage right says snagglepuss, right off the exit ramp and take secondary roads. I found out the hard way with MT street Rs to be about 30 MPH in heavy rain starts hydroplaning then rear end just starts floating back and forth even with light gas pedal and economy mode. If caught in rain unexpectedly put on flashers slow down and get off highway and live anther day.

My cars always get rained on. How can you actually go anywhere and travel?

Truck, fine, as a DD, yeah, it's going to get rained on, a lot even.

Hellcat, I'm looking at 15 different weather forecasts months in advance...
